EDIFACT (WESTIM)

File Validations

The file should be in the EDIFACT format. Example - The file should start with UNH (message header) and ends with UNT (message trailer).

Sample EDIFACT message file:

Information validations

Following information must be present in any WESTIM EDIFACT file sent to idex24:

· Depot code

· Customer / Lessor code

· Container number

· Status / condition of the container

Common Errors

Often errors occur in files because of the following reasons:

· NUMBER OF CHARACTERS DOES NOT MATCH

· FILE NAME MISMATCH

· ADDITONAL LINES WITH JUNCK CHARACTERS

NOT CONFORMING TO ANSI / EDIFACT STANDARDS
